"Samantha Elliots father, in his will, has given the stipulation that she must move to New York in order to search for his mother (her grandmother) who disappeared when Sam was a baby. Micheal Taggert is the landlord of the brownstone she moves into, her man her father has assigned to be her gaurdian and a handsome, outgoing man. As the two search for her grandmother, Samantha strives to overcome the pain of her divorce from an uncaring man and to stay alive as the truths of the past come too close to home."
