| Plot Summary of World Famous Dictators |
"A potted history of ten of the world's most infamous despots, the wars they caused, and the bloodbaths they indulged in. Refreshingly not politically correct, this author never troubles to call a spade a leveraged digging implement or avoid obvious judgement calls. Although populist in tone, this book is well written and only fails in its lack of analysis of what all these tyrants had in common, or why their people stood back and let them do what they did. The ancient dictators: Caligula (infantile), Genghis 'The Stinker' Khan, Ivan the Terrible (poor parenting), and Vlad Dracul (The Impaler Strikes Back). Modern dictators: Papa Doc, Idi Amin, Nicolae Ceaucescu, Emperor Bokassa I, Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein - chronologically too close for levity."
