Plot Summary of Mamemameshiifuruboku
"When a small island nation is attacked by a ruthless tyrant, the leader of the island people, Tosa, must rediscover the art of war if he is to save his people. They fight a long campaign, using the mountain terrain to launch stealth attacks and depending on the support of the peasantry. The tyrant is merciless as he ravages the island killing all of those who stand in his way. "Mamemameshiifuruboku" is both a tale of war and humanity struggling not to succumb to the horrors of violence. It is a tale of loyalty, honour and courage set in early Japan."
Bryn Pearson, Resident Scholar
