| Plot Summary of Fight For Life - Wild at Heart 1 |
"I love this book! (as well as the rest of the series). In this one, Maggie MacKenzie, an eleven year old girl who lives with her grandmother, Dr. J.J. MacKenzie (Gran), is failing school. Gran makes it clear to her that Maggie can't help out in the veterinary clinic untill her grades come up. In the meantime, Gran asks Brenna Lake, a girl from Maggie's school to do Maggie's chores. Maggie get's jealous. Then, all these sick puppies come in from the Farmers Market, and Maggie decides she has to put a stop to it. Gran asks some more kids from Maggie's school to help out untill things are back to normal. Maggie finds out that all these sick puppies are coming from puppy mills! After some major research, Maggie finds a way to put a stop to the puppy mill, arrest the man who owns it, and save and find homes for all the puppies. If you're like me, at the end of this book, you'll be cheering for Maggie and DYING to read the next in the series."

"In this book a girl named Maggie lives with her grandmother in her veterinary clinic after her parents died. Maggie is trying to balance her helping out at the clinic with her dismal test and homework grades at school. In the meantime a dog breader in town is running a puppy mill and Maggie feels it is up to her to catch the criminal and save the puppies. Maggie is a stubern kid and thinks she can do all of this by her self, so when her grandmother brings in other kids to help Maggie, Maggie is extremely upset. To top this her cousin, Zoe, has come to town so her mother can shoot a film nearbye. Maggie views her cousin as a stuck up snob and feels deeply hurt when her grandmother starts to enjoy Zoe's company."
