| Plot Summary of The Remorseful Day |
"This is the last in a series of books by C. Dexter with E. Morse as his Detector Inspector. References to Oxford, murders set in Oxford usually. More cerebral than blood & guts mystery.Always wonderfully written and very satisfying. Sorry this was his last book as I came to really like E. Morse. Would recommend all the books by this author."

" In "The Remorseful Day," author Colin Dexter writes an epitaph for his very successful Inspector Morse series and he does so with great class. It is no secret that this is the last of the series and Dexter goes back to a previous time and case to lay the foundation for this story. A year ago, Yvonne Harrison was found murdered, yet no conviction was made. Morse was involved in this case and when it is re-opened, he is most reluctant to get involved, but involved he is and the investigation begins anew. With great dexterity, the author brings us to a final conclusion of not only this case but of the inimitable Morse himself. It is a great validictory and Morse fans will not want to miss this one. "
