Plot Summary of Hannibal
"Clarice Starling fighting numerous setbacks in her career as an FBI agent, must once again face Hannibal Lector. But this time there is no protection, this time she must face herself as a person. Will she save Lector from the fate Mason Verger has planned for him? Will she sacrifice her career and all she has known?"
Tanna LoHouse, Resident Scholar

"After years in captivity, Hannibal the Cannibal has broken free of from prison, and pleasures in the opulence of Florence, Italy. But Mason Verger, Hannibal Lecter's only surviving victim, and a private inspector are on a man-hunt for Dr. Lecter. Agent Clarice Starling, FBI, is drawn into Lecter's life once more, and the intermingling of the four climaxes in a drastic and deadly outcome. "
Daniel, Resident Scholar

"Dr. Hannibal Lecter is being pursued by a surviving victim, Mason Verger, who wants to have Lecter eaten alive by pigs. Verger eventually uses Clarice Starling as bait to help capture Lecter. Two characters from Silence of the Lambs die and mayn others reappear. The ending was completely unexpected, so I won't tell you what it is."
Sarah Bunch, Resident Scholar

"This book is the newest book from Thomas Harris, and surpasses Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon in size, description, gore, violence, and action. This is truly the closest you can get to the mind of Hannibal Lecter, doctor, genuis, and cannibal, without having to worry about becoming the main course."
Keith C, Resident Scholar

"Hannibal Lecter is one of the most terrifying villains in literary history and caused the whole world to shudder at his shenanigans in "Silence of The Lambs". However, in "Hannibal", the cannabilistic Doctor seems more sedate, tamer than in the previous work. And his chief adversary, the FBI agent, Clarice Starling ends up acting in a most uncharacteristic manner at the end of the story. A fair read, but the ending is disappointing. Not at all the sequel to "Silence of the Lambs" that I thought it would be."
Bill Brumlow, Resident Scholar

"Hannibal Lecter is roaming free in Italy, enjoying art and scholarship and a new image he borrowed from a curator who had the misfortune to meet him. Clarice Starling is back in action on a multi-agency case that goes bad and, thanks to people with a vengeful agenda, is accused as being responsible for the crisis and is the sacrificial lamb to the media. Dr. Lecter makes contact with her, and because of their history, she is put on the case to locate the escaped killer and bring him back. Mason Verger, an old patient and "victim" of Dr. Lecter's, is also hunting for Lecter though for a very different reason. Mason wants revenge for what Dr. Lecter did to him years ago. What follows is the exposition of Mason's plot, the story of Dr. Lecter in Italy and his trip back to the States, as well as the trials and tribulations Clarice faces as she gets closer to the good doctor. What happens next is surprising, shocking, and, in some ways, justice is served. The ending is a twist that one would not expect, and it is delicious. I won't give it away. I strongly suggest you read it for yourself."
J Henson, Resident Scholar

"It's been seven years since Dr. Hannibal Lecter escaped a maximum security hospital for the criminally insane. FBI Special Agent Clarice Starling still holds a special place in Hannibal's mind palace although he has contacted her only twice since his freedom. Mason Verger has never forgotten how Hannibal butchered him and has an elaberate plan to see that Lector pays for leaving him to live as a vegetable. His plan is to lure Hannibal by using Clarice as bait. Hannibal is not so easily lured as Mason will soon find out."
Tracey Ray, Resident Scholar
