Lizbeth, Resident Scholar

"Annie is the main character. She is sixteen years old and lives in the 20th century, but ends up traveling back in time to the 19th century. She meets Strat, the love she has always wanted. When she returns to her time, she tells her mother that her father is cheating on her. What she realizes is, in the 19th century, Strat is doing the same thing to Harriet, and she feels guilty, because it's her fault. So she doesn't end up interfering with history, she goes back to the 19th century, breaks up with Strat, (she is very broken-hearted though) and proceeds to return to her own time."
Summer Spirit, Resident Scholar

"Annie is a teenage girl from the 20th century, although she has always felt that she belonged in the 1800's. One day while in an old mansion, Annie falls through time, which leads to a romantic adventure. Will she ever be able to get back to her own time? Does she even want to get back to her own time? Find out! Read Both Sides of Time by Caroline B. Cooney!"
Stephanie, Resident Scholar

" Anna Sophia Lockwood is a typical teenage girl who just got out of school for the summer. Her boyfriend Sean isn't the romantic type and has never even said, "I love you." to her. She goes to Stratton Point where Sean is to tell him that the party at the beach for the beginning of summer will start soon and she wanted him there. While he was working on a car, she walks into the old mansion and looks around. All of a sudden she feels a falling sensation and then it was like she was only half there. She could hear harps, pianos, and violins playing music, she saw sun coming through the windows and bumped into someone.

When he comes into full view, Hiram Stratton, Jr. talks to her. She is frightened and runs down the stairs and out of the house and gets onto her bicycle and starts to ride away. Her skirt flies up and he is surprised by how she is dressed. No lady in the year 1895 would dress like that and have their legs showing. Finally, Strat was able to catch up with Annie and they went to the beach and sat there. That was where Annie had learned what year it was and they learned each other's names.

Harriet Ranleigh was in the mansion in a tower, spying on Anna Sophia and Strat. She was deaestated when she saw the two being so open with each other and touching each other. That day a servant, Mathew had been killed.

That evening there was to be a party. Hiram Stratton, Sr. Strat's father told Strat to stop fooling around with Ms. Lockwood and to go to Harriet. He ignored what his father had told him and stayed with Annie the whole time. Devonny Stratton, Strat's younger sister called the police. She felt bad for Mathew's family and wanted to know who killed the kind servant and why.

In the library, Mr. Rowwels proposed marriage to Harriet and she accepted. She thought now that Ms. Lockwood had Strat's eyes fixed on her, she would have no chance at marrying whom she loves and thought that marriage to someone she didn't love would be better than no marriage at all. Mr. Rowwels turned out to be Mathew's murderer and Annie ended up going back to her own time, in 1995."
