| Plot Summary of A Bitter Legacy |
"Victoria Hunter was eager to claim her inheritance left to her by her hated grandfather. In some cruel twist, her grandfather left her the mansion, but left all the money to her cousin, George. She was determined to keep the house despite the lack of money to run it. She stubbornly refused to sell it to any of her family members including the darkly handsome Jasper Thornley. She never realized that somebody wanted the house enough to kill for it.
Victoria had very mixed feelings about Jasper Thornley. Although she was attracted to him, she didn't trust him. He kept showing up exactly when she needed him. How did he know every time she was in trouble? Was he trying to
protect her, like he said, or was he trying to hurt her? Despite her feelings of distrust, she fell in love with Thornley. When he held her, she felt safe. But she couldn't shake her feelings of distrust."
