"A Cambodian refugee couple, the Hahn Lys, are shot and killed in their apartment near Seattle. Sleuth Bridget O'Hern who has worked with the Southeast Asian Advocacy Agency where Ly worked, is asked to be a liaison between the Khmer (Cambodian) community and the police investigating the murders. Bridg must learn about the horrors of the Khmer Rouge times in order to help solve the homicides."
