Plot Summary of A Little Death
"Three elderly recluses are found dead in a locked house, obviously murder and suicide, but who killed whom? And more importantly, why? The household is comprised of Georgina Gresham, tried and acquitted of the poisoning death of her husband years ago; her brother, Edmund and long-suffering housekeeper, Ada. The story covers the first fifty years of the 20th century, vividly evoking English country life, WWI, the roaring 20's, and WWII. Told in alternating first person narrative by Georgina, Edmund and Ada, it is an absorbing tale of obsession, murder and ultimate betrayal."
Linda Sourpuss, Resident Scholar
