I normally don't review books unless I read them completely, but in the case of Vulcan's Heart I just couldn't plow through it. Those of you expecting a traditional Star Trek plot--action, adventure, technology, spaceships--should look elsewhere. Spock and his new bride Saavick go undercover in Romulan to aid Romulan moderates against the Romulan hardliners. (Where have we seen that plot before?)
Things move very, very slowly as they sift through the intrigue of Romulan politics. Perhaps the action picks up later in the book, but I have no way of knowing.

| Plot Summary of Vulcan's Heart Book Review |
"Spock must go to Vulcan to help moderates fight the hardliners;
he brings along Saavik, who he's now married to. There is a lot
of talk in this book, but very little action. This is one
of the worst books I have ever read."
