Plot Summary of Drop Dead
"Fashion industry titan Cullom Furyk is gorgeous and kind. So when he crashes to the street from the top of an extravagant Chicago hotel, detectives Paul Turner and Buck Fenwick question if this was an accident, and they even have a witness who saw Cullom pushed off. As they begin to investigate the suspects connected to this tragic death, they find that Cullom charmed many men is his day; they find he had male lovers all over the world.
So with more investigation, the detectives find more reasons and motives for why someone might want to kill Cullom. They now need to decide if a distressed lover pushed Cullom, or if it has something to do with the fashion industry. As Paul and Buck dig into the complex fashion industry, they hear rumors that Cullom may have been switching from one major company, GUINEVERE, Inc., to its rival "Heyling and Veleshki". The owners of each company, Franklin Munsen and the duo of Heyling and Veleshki, contradict these rumors. The detectives need to get to the bottom of these rumors and find the culprit or culprits in this surprising mystery.
I disliked the fact that throughout the book, it was too difficult to hypothesize who the murderer was. Many of the suspects lied, and there was no hard physical evidence. Moreover, the detectives had a random feeling and forced a suspect into revealing himself. I would suggest this book to a female because the author writes about different relationships with the characters that would be more appealing to a woman."
