Plot Summary of Glorious Angel
"Angela Sherrington was the poor daughter of a sharecropper in Alabama during the civil War. At age 11 she fell in love with Bradford Maitland, eldest son of the plantation owner, Jacob Maitland. Unbeknownst to her Jacob was carefully observing her upbringing as he had promised her mother years ago when she had died. Upon the death of Angela's drunkard father in a bar brawl, Jacob took Angela to his mansion and told her a little of her mother and sent her to Massachusetts to the finishing school that her mother had attended years before.

One afternoon while shopping Angela came upon Bradford who had gone into a bordello. She knocked on the door and upon entry all the men thought she was the new girl they were expecting. Bradford took her to a room and took her virginity. She did not refuse as she was still in love with him. He had not recognized her. That encounter did cause him to become obsessed with her and he hired detectives to find her. They fell in love. She returned to school having not told him her real name. Again he searched for her until he was summoned to Alabama due to his father's illness. There he found her and also discovered that the whole county thought she was his father's mistress.

He courted her and they decided to marry. Jacob was very happy for them. Bradford's brother and his wife were not. His sister in law tried to convince Bradford that Angela was his half sister. Angela overheard the conversation and left for Texas where she believed her mother was living. Again Bradford searched for her. Jacob died and left her 10K a year and half of his Texas ranch and a letter explaing to Angela that her mother had died when she was just a year old and was buried on the Texas ranch. He also explained other things about her mother as well but most pointedly that he was not her father.

Bradford found her in Texas, he owned the other half of the ranch, but by then thought she had left him for another. Eventuallly with the help of others they worked out the miscommunication between themselves. The only other cirsumstance was to find out who was trying to kill Bradford so they could live happily ever after."
