Plot Summary of Call It Destiny
"Heather Strand is getting married to Jake Cavender for many reasons, none of which is love. He is the financial wizard of the hotel that she believes she is inheriting, and her family loves him and is promoting the match. Heather is desperate to please her family after a rebellious adolescence. She has locked the more unruly part of her character away, and is determined to keep it under control.
All of her good intentions are pushed aside when she discovers on the eve of her wedding that the hotel that she was led to believe she was inheriting upon her marriage was sold to Jake Cavender six months ago. After learning this Heather proceeds to revert back to her old rebellious ways, and leaves Jake unmarried
Although Heather's reasons for wanting the marriage were purely business, Jake's feelings ran deeper than that. He has wanted Heather since the first moment that he met her, and is determined to have her. He chases after Heather when she leaves him, and he forces her to face the passion that they have for one another.
They get into a dangerous situation when one of Heather's old friends shows up in town. Heather is almost kidnapped, but Jake saves her. Heather comes to realize that she is really in love with Jake, but Jake doesn't believe in love. Heather refuses to marry Jake unless he is willing to admit that he loves her, which Jake swears that he will never do. He is determined to marry her inspite of her resolution, and a battle of wills ensues. Will Heather and Jake be able to compromise and recognize their true feelings for each other, or will their unstable relationship fall apart?"
