Plot Summary of Whirlpool
"Cruz Rowan is a private investigator with a dark past. He is hired to track down a stolen Fabrege egg, and the trail leads him to Laurel Cameron Swann, whom the missing peice was shipped to. Cruz is imeediately fascinated by Laurel. She's smart, sexy, and doesn't hold his shady past against him. The only problem is that Cruz doesn't know if Laurel is an innocent caught up in his theft case, or if she's actually behind the theft.
Laurel trusts Cruz, but she feels obligated to protect her father, a dangerous assasin who sometimes works for the law and sometimes works against it. He had the egg shipped to Laurel so that he could pick it up at her house, and Laurel refuses to betray him. Laurel doesn't want to be involved in a crime, but she has been lying for her father all of her life.
When an attempt is made on Laurel's life, Cruz gives up his investigation of the missing art in order to focus soley on protecting Laurel. He has strong romantic feelings for her, but is afraid to get too involved. He knows that in order to protect Laurel he will have to trap her father, maybe even kill him, and Laurel will never forgive him. But the more time that Laurel and Cruz spend together, the more they become involved. Can Cruz find a way to protect Laurel and keep her love?"
