| Plot Summary of Girls On Film |
"It's the first day of school for Anna Percy at Beverly Hills High School after moving from the East Coast. On Anna's flight from New York to L.A., Anna meets Princeton freshman Ben Birnbaum. Although Anna thought Ben might be "the" guy, Ben ditched her on New Year's Day at 1 a.m. in the order to resuce a female friend. Anna renews an acquaintance with Samantha Sharpe, daughter of famous actor Jackson Sharpe. Sam's father has just married 21 year old airhead Poppy in a New Year's eve celebration. Sam's best friends are Dee Young, daughter of a big record executive, and Cammie Sheppard, daughter of powerful Hollywood agent. Although Ben tries to repair the damage with Anna, she's so over him. Sam is dealing with Poppy, the dingbat stepmother, who is now living in Sam's mansion and preparing for the birth of her child in 8 weeks. Poppy is leading her father around by the nose and taking over with house renovations. Adam Flood has a serious crush on Anna and he's upset that things didn't work out with him and Ben. As Adam and Ben start dating, Ben continues to try and win Anna back. But when Anna discovers that Ben previously slept with Dee and dated Cammie, she can't believe that she ever had romantic feelings towards Ben. But as Anna finds her feelings for Adam more sisterly than romantic, she finds herself once again involving herself with Ben."
