| Plot Summary of Comfort and Joy |
"Joy Candellaro is newly divorced and trying hard to ignore the Christmas season since it will be her first one alone. Her sister has not only had an affair with her ex-husband, but now she's pregnant and marrying him! Since her parents are both deceased, Joy feels very alone and when confronted with the news of her sister's pregnancy and upcoming nuptial, she impulsively drives to the airport to escape her worries and embark on a holiday adventure.
When Joy finds a destination to a town called 'Hope', she takes it as a sign and buys a ticket. The plane crashes but Joy survives and walks away from the ruin hoping that no one will know that she was even aboard the chartered flight. Somehow she makes her way through the Northwestern forest and finds a charming yet run-down fishing lodge, owned by Daniel O'Shea, a handsome divorcee and now widower, and his young son Bobby.
Joy forms a strong bond with little Bobby and finds herself attracted to the laconic and brooding Daniel. But just as Christmas Eve approaches, Joy is ripped away from her adventure and awakens from her post plane crash coma. She has a hard time believing that it was all a dream."
