Plot Summary of You and No Other
"    Lady Caroline Pearson is widow who has been ill-treated not only by her late husband, but also his selfish family. Freddie Pearson, her brother in law, informs her that he has lost the small home where she lives by gambling it away. Outraged, Caroline decides to be impromper for the first time in her life and confront the man who won her home, Mr. James Farrington.
    James is a wealthy businessman who is trying to win the right to trade in India. James, who has already decided to let the widow have the deed to home back, changes his mind when he meets Caroline, and decides to use the deed to get closer to her, feeling and undeniable passion for her. James, who has already offered marriage to another woman for business purposes, decides to proposition Caroline to be his mistress. Caroline, who has always been a proper lady, is outraged, even they she secretly harbors a passion for James.
    As James informs her that he will not reliniquish the deed like he promised to do, Caroline's Aunt Minerva decides to force his hand by kidnapping him and declaring that she will not release him for an important business meeting unless he gives the deed over. James decides to use the kidnapping to his advantage and seduces Caroline. As the couple indulge in their passion, they realize they have a deep love for one another. Caroline must fight the bad memories of her past marriage, not to mention the fact she believes she unable to have children. Also, James must find a way out of his engagement before he can take Caroline to be his wife."
