"When famous writer Lise Barton finds herself being stalked and threatened by a man named Nemesis, she decides to move from her ranch at Canyon Rock to Seattle in order to protect her family especially when the man has hinted of harming them. Nemesis follows her in the city and makes sure that she knows it by calling her up in the apartment and telling her exactly what she's been doing. Lise has reported the threats to the police but they wouldn't believe or help her. Lise finds it hard to confide to her brother for fear that Nemesis will truly hurt her family. When Joshua Watt, former Army Rangers and brother-in-law, comes in unannounced to her apartment one evening, she has been so frightened and right in front of Joshua, she breaks down. She confides to him what has been happening to her for the past months and her fear for her family. Joshua is outraged with what has happened to Lise. Because of his undeniable attraction and unexplained feeling of protection over her, he decides to stop and catch Nemesis. Installing the help of his other 2 comrades, they put up surveillance on Lise's apartment to carefully monitor Nemesis's activities. Lise is able to breathe easier now that Joshua is handling the problem. She decides to regain back her life and not to cower from Nemesis. Lise also finds herself frightened over her attraction for Joshua. He stirs in her overwhelming feelings that she hasn't felt even from her first marriage. When her first marriage has ended, Lise has decided not to get too a close to another man again fearing of getting hurt from the relationship. With Joshua, Lise is amazed by the extent of her feelings for him and she knows that it's better to embrace it rather fight it. They both have a relationship amidst the danger Lise is in. However Nemesis is able to go through their protective watch and almost killed Lise when he sabotaged Lise's car. Joshua is furious and decides to trap Nemesis once and for all before Nemesis can complete his mission of killing Lise.
