Plot Summary of Perelandra - Space Trilogy 2
"This is the most exciting book of any I have read in my life. I could not continue reading at one point as my heart raced out of control. In plot, characters, and power of description is probably equal Lord of the Rings, although utterly different in most other ways.

Ransom, the hero of 'Out of the Silent Planet', is transported by angelic beings to Perelandra, which we call Venus. His has a mission of the deepest concern to the two beings living there who are the equivalent of our Adam and Eve before they fell and were ejected from the Garden of Eden. Perelandra is their 'Garden of Eden'.

The evil that enters their world is from Earth, as is Ransom. His intention is to destroy innocence as before. Only Ransom understands, only Ransom can stop him."

Michael JR Jose, Resident Scholar

"This story is a second Eden, a retelling of the Christian story on Venus (Perelandra). Dr Weston is possessed and tempts 'Eve'. Dr Elwin Ransom, the main character who tells the story in 3rd person, attempts to convince Eve the other way, and finally has to fight, chase and kill Weston, to prevent his evil continuing and destroying the innocence of a new world."
Paul W, Resident Scholar

"Dr Ransom is called to Venus by the Oyarsa from Mars. At first he doesn't know why he has been called to the planet and is content to explore the planet, that is until he meets up with Venus's version of Eve. Weston, an evil scientist from Earth, shows up and invites an evil prescence into his body, making him an "un-man" as Ransom describes him. The un-man procedes to tempt the eve and it is up to Ransom to stop Weston from causing a fall on Venus. First he tries arguing but finding that this is not proving effective resorts to physical violence resulting in a huge chase that takes Ransom and weston from the dark depths of the planet to the wide ocean."
Neil Morey, Resident Scholar
