Plot Summary of Midnight in Death
"Eve Dallas's was called in to take care of the murder case of Judge Harold Waigner. The judge's death has been brutal and Eve knows who the suspect is because of his trademark with killing his victim. David Palmer has been arrested for 3 torture murders and sent to maximum prison by Eve 3 years ago. Now he has escaped and is on a vendetta. He has left a list of names with the judge's body proclaiming all his future victims. The names are all the people who have been responsible for sending him to prison. Eve's name is on the list but Eve is not afraid for she will make sure that she gets to him before he kills another person. Eve assigns guard protection to the other names while she tracks down David. It gets really complicated when Eve's close friends have been contacted by David and are also in danger. Before she can get some clues, another victim has turned out dead and apparently tortured before being killed. It has been the lawyer who tried against David. And then another one is kidnapped. Eve is getting furious with the pace of her investigation and also afraid for her friends. With the help of her husband, they both track down any financial account David could have had. From there they follow up clues to all real property he might have owned. Suddenly Dave reappeared but even with her relentless chase she lost him in the city. She is surprised when Dave calls her later to inform her that he got Mira, Eve's friend. Eve is enraged and their force works hard to pinpoint his location. Their determination produces good result when they narrow it down to an apartment unit where David could be stashing and torturing his victims. Eve goes in and confronts David."
