| Plot Summary of The Senator's Wife |
"Veronica Honneker (Ronnie) has finally gotten what she has dreamed of since she has been a child - a stable life with beautiful mansions, designer clothes, expensive jewelry, credit cards at her disposal and fame as the wife of Senator Lewis Honneker. However with the fame and fortune, she pays the price of being the most hated woman of the state. She has been ostracized as the woman who has destroyed the senator's first marriage. She also has to endure a loveless marriage where her husband has never stopped his philandering ways and makes it clear that sex is the only thing he wants from her. Despite these trials, she supports her husband in his reelection by campaigning beside him. Her husband however knows that his wife is not popular with the people so he hires political consultant Tom Quinlan to change his wife's image. Ronnie likes Tom for his honorable character but she considers him as one of the long list of people who feeds her what to do, to say and to wear. Ronnie is tired of the constant protocols drilled at her. And she considers Tom as an enemy when he tries to change who she is. The attraction between them is not helping either. Ronnie for the first time is awakened by her passion for Tom. Tom however refuses to sleep with her because she's married. When Ronnie becomes aggressive with her behavior towards him, Tom disappears causing Ronnie to miss him miserably. When they meet again at a party, they both cannot contain what they feel for each other and have sex. But Tom gives Ronnie an ultimatum: it's either him or her husband. Ronnie is afraid that if she divorces the senator, she won't experience the unlimited wealth at her disposal. She has grown up poor and doesn't want to experience it again. But realizing that Tom is the man of her life, she prepares to tell her husband that she wants to divorce. Before she can get through with it, she finds her husband killed in his office. The police suspects her when pictures of her affair with Tom came out. The day she is to be turned in to the police, she is kidnapped along with another woman named Marla. Marla tells her that all the people involve in one yachting expedition the senator hosted, are being murdered. This includes her 2 friends and the senator. Both women fight for their lives and succeed to escape. Ronnie's name has been cleared and the attention towards her scandalous affair has been shifted towards her late husband's murder. Tom doesn't care if he can't provide Ronnie with expensive things just as long as they both love one another."
