Plot Summary of Scenes of Passion
"Maggie Stanton is horrified at where her life is heading. She has been walked over by people never ever voicing out what she wants. She has given up studying drama arts in favor of the law degree her father wants her to take. She loves acting and she has been good at it when she was in high school. But she's stuck in a law office working a boring and miserable job. Her love life also sucks despite having a fiancée. Brock takes her for granted and doesn't inspire passion in her. At 29, she lives in her parents' home because her parents insist on it. She wants to change the course of her life and when Matt Stone offers her a job to work as his business partner, she accepts and quickly quits her job in the law office.
Maggie is surprised with the changes in Matt. They have been the best of friends in high school with her bestfriend Angie being his girlfriend. But when they have broken up, Maggie sides with Angie and become distant from Matt. Now Matt is the hunk she's been drooling over in the gym. She doesn't recognize him at first because of his muscular built. She is also amazed that he has grown to be more calm, more healthy (quitting all his devices) and more centered person.
Matt has fallen in love with Maggie when they were in high school – it is the reason why he and Angie broke up. Now he still harbors the same feelings. However he needs her help to make his father's company, which he doesn't want to inherit, become profitable to save the jobs of thousands of workers in the company. He offers her shelter in his big house when Maggie decides to escape from her parents' house after finding out that her fiancée and her sister have slept together. But working closely and living under the same roof brings an undeniable attraction between them which they hesitantly act on for fear of losing their friendship. But Matt realizes that he wants to spend his life with Maggie and proposes to her.
Maggie marries Matt and though shock when she finds out that Matt has had Hodgkin's cancer, she still supports and stays by his side. But when her bestfriend and other people put a kernel of doubt regarding Matt's attitude, she begins to worry that maybe Matt is not what he seems to be and that he doesn't love her truly.
