| Plot Summary of Frisco's Kid |
"Lt. Alan “Frisco” Francisco is miserable and in pain after a bullet has hit his knee discharging him from his Navy SEAL duty until his knee has healed. But doctor's prognosis tells him that he can't regain the full use of his knee again. For five years already, he has had numerous surgery but all without success on repairing his knee completely. Frisco doesn't want to hear that and pushes himself hard to recover quickly and get back to his duty. But his efforts are wasted as every time he pushes himself hard, his knee gives up on him and sends him shooting pain. He drowns his misery in alcohol and he becomes surly with his friends pushing them away from his life. When the Navy kicks him out of the barracks, he is left to find an apartment for his own. He becomes more miserable and depressed. His sister suddenly arrives in his apartment dumping her 5-year-old daughter Natasha to him telling her that she can't take care of her while she's in rehab. Frisco is dumbfounded not knowing what to do with the child much more how to take care of her. Moving into a new apartment and taking care of a kid while his knee is always in pain definitely gives Frisco a disadvantage. But the presence of his next-door neighbor Mia Summerton helps him although he refuses any kind of help. The presence of a kid softens Frisco's heart. He becomes attached with Natasha and cleans up his act in front of her. He becomes a perfect uncle and he gives up on alcohol. Mia also makes him want to be the best person that he can be. He is attracted to her and Mia reciprocates the feeling. When his sister's old boyfriend comes charging after Natasha, Frisco is determined to protect her. It gets worse when it has involved Mia too. Frisco's feelings for Mia become more confused and it frightens him. He is still insecure about his knee and he tells Mia to leave him telling her that she has no future with him. When Natasha and Mia have been kidnapped by his sister's boyfriend, he owns up to the truth that he can't do everything on his own and calls on his buddies to help him get Natasha and Mia back. "
