Plot Summary of Sarah's Child
"Sarah has loved Rome for a long time. She has no interest on other men except Rome that's why she has been called Ice Queen in her workplace. She has been the best friend of Rome's late wife. When Rome calls her to pick up some pictures of her and his wife in his house, an unguarded moment from Rome almost seduce her in his house. Rome confesses his attraction to Sarah. Sarah is happy but immediately hurt when Rome mentions that he is betraying his wife if he seduces her. However Rome's feelings can't be contained and he pursues Sarah by slowly dating her to establish friendship between them. When they move their relationship into the next level, Rome proposes to her telling her that he likes to be married to her instead of a thousand one night stands. Sarah accepts his proposal even though Rome states honestly that he doesn't want children ever after experiencing the bitter loss of the death of his two sons.
Sarah agrees to all his stipulations telling Rome that they should be able to maintain their separate businesses still without interference from the other partner. They marry and the first start of their marriage has been rocky with Rome feeling remorse for betraying his late wife. Sarah patiently loves Rome even though he has done and said hurtful things to her. Their passion keeps them bound together and a comfortable friendly atmosphere exist between them outside the bedroom. When Sarah gets sick with flu, Rome rushes to her side and takes care of her drawing them together more intimately. Sarah gets accidentally pregnant when she has stopped using the birth control pill after she has gotten the flu. Rome is devastated telling her to get rid of the child. But Sarah fights for their child issuing Rome to choose between the child and her or nothing at all. Rome has grown to love Sarah but a child inside her simply upsets him. He tells Sarah that she can keep the baby as long as it stays out of his business and as long as she can do her duty first as his wife. During her pregnancy, Rome is remote but makes sure that she won't be doing difficult work. When she has given birth, Rome refuses to see the baby although visitors and friends coo over it. Sarah works hard to make sure that the baby is fed and sleeping before Rome gets home. They resume their husband and wife duties. Sarah hopes that in time Rome can accept his daughter. When Sarah is unable to respond to her baby's cries one evening, Rome reluctantly goes to the child. At that moment, Rome is overwhelmed by love for his daughter.
