| Plot Summary of All the Possibilities |
"Senator and eligible bachelor Alan MacGregor is instantly interested and intrigued with Shelby Campbell the first time he has seen her in a party. Dressed unconventionally, she lights up the conventional and boring political party with her wit and satirical opinion on politics. Alan decides to pursue his interest on Shelby, who is alarmed to be a recipient of the very much-respected politician's attention.
Shelby is an artist who sets up no rules in her life except one: she doesn't date politicians. She has had a traumatic experience in the past when her beloved father, who is a politician, has been assassinated in front of her. Both she and her brother instantly has became orphaned and her mother, widowed. But Alan's persistence and charm slowly crumble her defenses. Alan daily woos her with gifts and flowers until she gives up and agrees to date him. With further matchmaking from Alan's father and his friend, they innocently come together and enjoy a casual relationship. But Shelby is still afraid to take their relationship more intimately because she fears that she will completely fall in love with Alan and will become vulnerable.
Alan is certain that Shelby is the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. She will make a wonderful wife, an unconventional hostess, a breath of fresh air to his serious and crazy political life. After discovering her dreadful past, Alan determinedly pursues her making her see how much he loves her. However when she finds out that he is a candidate for presidency, Shelby's worst fear is coming true – that Alan's life will be in danger and he might be also taken away from her. Alan loves his political career. Shelby runs away hurting and afraid of her feelings. After much thinking she realizes that life is full of risk but what's worth taking the risk is if it's with and for someone she loves. She has decided that she'll take the risk of loving Alan rather than be safe and live without him. She returns back to him and accepts his marriage proposal.
