Plot Summary of Wings
"   Ever since she was a young girl, Cassie O'malley had a fascination with airplanes. Her father, a pilot, wanted more than anything for his son to be the one to follow in his footsteps---not his daughter. Conservative in his ways, Cassie's father felt it improper for a young lady to become a pilot or even learn to fly. Unwilling to admit it, her father knew that it was Cassie, not her brother, who had the desire to fly and the talent needed to make her a success.
Close friend and business partner Nick Galvin sat back and watched as Cassie's father continued to reject her pleas for flying lessons. As Cassie and Nick begin to develop a friendship (which slowly turns into a budding romance), Nick reluctantly agrees to secretly give Cassie the flying lessons she so deperately wants. Very quickly, Cassie develops a remarkable knack for flying. Eventually, her father discovers that Cassie has become a very gifted pilot. Despite his reservations, he allows her to make a few business deliveries in his planes.
Soon Cassie becomes the talk of the town as her talent is displayed at the annual airshow. Also in attendance, California bussinessman Desmon Williams sees her talent and invites her to become his newest test pilot. Within a short time, Cassie becomes the next biggest aviation star since Amelia Earhardt. Determined to avoid Earhardt's mistakes, Cassie sets out to break records by traveling around the world. Her life is soon caught up in all the hype of Hollywood with press conferences, interviews, and photo shoots; amidst all the chaos, Cassie learns that there is more important things in life than fame and fortune and soon finds herself in a position where she must choose between a life of glamour and fame, or the love and family she once had back home.
