| Plot Summary of Change of Heart |
"Elijah Harcourt has an IQ of a genius at age twelve. However great his intellect it doesn't match the vastness of his love for his mother who has raised him single-handedly while his father does nothing but ignore and bully them. When he has been offered to study at Princeton, he is torn between taking care of his mother and going to the prestigious school. So he tries a little matchmaking between his mother, Miranda and his billionaire friend, the only friend who can understand him and his gift, Franklin Taggert, hoping they'll fall in love with each other. He sends him mom to nurse Franklin, who is convalescing in his cabin in the mountains after an accident.
Miranda Harcourt tries hard to make a living for both her and her son since her ex-husband has never paid child support. Despite the troubles she has, she still dreams of love story only seen from romance novels - a knight who will ride a magnificent black horse to sweep her off her feet. When she arrives to Colorado to nurse a Mr. Franklin Taggert, she finds the opposite of the man of her dreams. Franklin is intimidating and cynical and cold as the weather in the Rocky Mountains. She then decides to breeze through all his bluster and perform her job. Contrary to her first impression of him, she learns that beneath the porcupine exterior Franklin is sweet and caring to those he loves. She realizes that Franklin Taggert can be her knight-in-shining-armor after all but can she convince him of that?
Franklin Taggert is getting tired of the world. He has amassed himself a fortune, built a business empire, and dated countless beautiful women. However Franklin yearns for a family just like what his siblings have. Trying to find the right woman who loves him for his own and not his money poses an altogether different problem. When Miranda arrives in his cabin, he is full of suspicions thinking she is there for his money. But as they spend more time together, she has taught him those human values he has lost a long time ago. He learns how to laugh and enjoy life and value his friends and family. Could this be the woman he is looking for all his life?
