| Plot Summary of Beating Heart: A Ghost Story |
" Evan is a seventeen-year-old human boy who moves in with his mother and younger sister Libby after his parents decide to separate. As his family gets settled in the new house, Evan begins to dream about a beautiful, yet mysterious girl who once lived there. Evan's dreams become more vivid and real, and soon he is fascinated with her, believing she is living in the house with him.
Cora is a ghost. She roams the halls of Evans home, watching him, and longing for his love and attention. She believes he is her lover, and that they belong together. Even if she has to steal him. Cora uses her power of seduction to pull Evan from his relationships with his family and his girlfriend Carrie, hoping he will stay with her.
As Evan and Cora get closer, Evan's old life begins to slip away, leaving his family, and Carrie."
