"I would have to say that this book is one of the best, if not THE best book that I have ever read. I am an 8th grade teacher and I use this book in my classes and try to make the name Simon Kenton, who is the main character, come to life for my students. It's a shame that he is usually only mentioned briefly in most text books. He was a greater frontiersman than Daniel Boone. For us that live in the Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Indiana areas, this book is must reading. The historic sites in The Frontiersmen are within a few hours drive. This helps make history come alive.
