"Beautiful and grieving Kate Donovan takes a vacation to the beautiful island of Anguilla to heal from the death of her father. With a boyfried catching up on her later in the island, she meets a gorgeous, wealthy and worldly European man who has distracted her from her solitude. Mitchell Donovan has grown up wealthy yet without loving parents and a series of boarding school and foster families. He turns out worldly, cynical and ruthless when it comes to business and relationships. One look at Kate arouses in him an attraction he has never felt for any woman. He gently seduces Kate even with knowing that her lover will arrive on the island at any moment. What has begun as a game turns out something precious for him, a relationship he doesn't want to end.
However Mitchell has the police surveilling him. His every move is watched for any sign of foul play as he has been under suspicion for the murder of his half-brother, William. When his grandfather has been murdered, Mitchell returns back to Chicago to set things in order for his sister-in-law and nephew cutting his time with Kate abruptly. Kate has decided that she will break off her relationship with her boyfriend Evan promising Mitchell the rest of her days with him in the island. However, Evan is furious and enlightens Kate with Mitchell's background. Kate is not convinced that Mitchell is insincere until she learns that Mitchell has already left the island without even saying goodbye and breaking his promise with her. Little did she know that Mitchell has been implicated with murder and is quickly resolving the case to return back to Kate.
Heartbroken Kate accepts Evan marriage proposal. Mitchell later finds out and feels betrayed and cuts all ties with Kate. When Kate finds out that she is pregnant with Mitchell's baby, Evan is furious and breaks off the engagement. Kate becomes determined to make it better for herself and her baby by making the pub she has inherited from her father successful. Three years later, Kate's baby has been kidnapped and sought for a ransom of 10 million dollars. Kate desperately turns to Mitchell for help. Mitchell is shocked to find out that he has a child. He rushes back to Kate and quickly mobilizes the rescue of their son. Old feelings resurface and the truth behind all misunderstandings open up. Can Mitchell and Kate try once more to trust each other and revive their love?
