| Plot Summary of Primary Justice |
"Ben Kincaid is a new associate at the firm of Raven, Tucker & Tubb, the most prestigious law firm in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He gets off to a rough start when he accidentally humiliates the speaker at orientation, who turns out to be his supervising attorney, Richard Derek. Derek gives Ben an adoption case as his first assignment. Ben doesn't know anything about adoptions, but is enchanted by the little girl, Emily, that an older couple, Jonathan and Bertha Adams, want to adopt. When Jonathan is found murdered that very evening, Ben's adoption case becomes more complicated.
Ben's legal secretary is a snooty, arrogant older woman who also works for Derek, but the legal assistant assigned to him, Christina McCall, is delightful and clever. She makes working at Raven, Tucker & Tubb tolerable. Together Ben and Christina try to solve the mystery of Jonathan Adams' death, with the help of Ben's ex-brother-in-law cop, and Ben tries to cope with working for Derek."
