Plot Summary of Vanishing Acts
"Delia Hopkins seems to have it all. She has a wonderful relationship with her father, Andrew Hopkins, a young daughter and a fiance. She is lucky enough to lover her occupation, which entails using her bloodhound to search for missing persons. Unfortunately, this seemingly perfect life is about to be shattered. After Delia begins to have visions of people and places she can't recall ever seeing before, she appeals to her friend, Fitz, a journalist who facilitates the discovery of Andrew Hopkins' secret.

Delia is the product of a kidnapping. Her mother is not, as her father had always claimed, dead; rather, Andrew kidnapped his own Delia when she was barely old enough to walk. Suddenly Delia's world is turned upside down. She experiences marital problems with her fiance, Eric, and learns that her father, her closest relation and friend, has been lying to her. Delia must choose between her love for her father and her desire for the truth as Andrew Hopkins is put on trial for kidnapping, and his story comes out at last. "
