| Plot Summary of Dragon Weather |
"Arlian is the only surviving member of his community in the Smoking Mountains that survives a dragon attack. In the attack he swallows some of the dragon's venoem mixted with his grandfather's blood and we later learn that this will make him a Dragon Heart, a human that has a extremely long lifespan that can quickly heal from most injuries. At the time this isn't apparant because a lord calling himself Lord Dragon comes and sells him to a mine to work as a slave.
Arlian swears to escape one day and make this Lord Dragon pay for looting his destroyed village and selling him into slavery. He gets his chance when one of the overseers let him go and he flees to Westwood where a group of crippled whores hide him and educate him so that he can pass himself off as a lord himself. While at the whorehouse he learns where one of the patrons has hidden a stash of gold and using this money he gets hired on a caravan trip to the desolation. Along the journey he befriends one of the guards, Black and he gets him to teach him how to fight.
Arlian makes a trip across the Dreaming Mountains and trades for something that is scarce in the Lands of Man, magic which will allow him to earn the wealth that is required to become a lord himself and pursue his plan of vengence. While in the city of Manfort he joins the Dragon Society and learns the identities of his sworn enemies and tells them all that he will not rest until they are made to pay. Arlian manages to take revenge on some of the Lords and this causes the rest of them to flee the city. Arlian's attempt to seek satisfication could lead to open war with the dragons for Lord Enziet is keeper of a terrible secret, one that has held the dragons in check for over 700 years and this all could come to an end if Arlian somehow kills him in their meeting in the Desolation.
