" Samantha Forster was only a child when she got her first horse, a coal black colt she named Blackie. Living in Nevada, she and her half Native American friend Jake trained him to be a gentle, loving horse by using his ancestors' horse taming tricks. One day a terrible accident occurred as she and her friend were riding. Blackie panicked when she tried to close a gate, and she ended up on the ground, her head struck by her horse's back hoof as he ran away.
Her grief-struck father, who had already lost his wife, sent her away to San Francisco to stay with her aunt. Hurt and angry, Samantha tries to forget her father, but she couldn't forget Blackie. Every day she asked if he had been caught. But his mustang blood ran strong, and he seemed to have vanished. Two years have passed, and now Sam is ready to come home.
Upon returning, she learns the legend of a silver white stallion called the Phantom. The night she returns, she goes to the La Charla river for peace. A silver stallion comes to her, standing on the far side of the river. He comes to her, and Sam knows it's her lost colt. Sam realizes she wants him to be wild and free, but Linc Slocum, a rich man playing cowboy wants this legend to be his, and does everything he can to take Blackie away from her. Can Sam rescue Blackie from Slocum's clutches for good? Or will Blackie have to give in to Slocum's brutal methods of submission?"
