| Plot Summary of Cooking for Mr. Right |
"Kate Linden is a 26 year old Seattle sous chef working at a trendy restaurant called Sound Bistro. When Kate's ex boyfriend, Gaston, calls her to announce his engagement to the perfect woman of his dreams, schoolteacher Courtney, Kate is floored. Gaston's announcement is extremely troublesome to Kate for numerous reasons. Firstly, Kate can't believe that Gaston, who repeatedly told her that she was the woman of his dreams, could commit to another woman so soon after their break up. Secondly, Gaston's announcement causes Kate to reconsider her own history with Gaston. Did she make the wrong decision when she repeatedly turned down Gaston's marriage proposals? Kate ponders her break up with Gaston and comes to the realization that she needs Gaston to achieve her happily ever after. When Kate comes up with the idea of busting up Gaston's engagement she enlists Gaston's zany mother, Adele Lambert, in the scheme. Although Kate tries to elicit sympathy from her pottery obsessed mother, Lauren, all her mother wants to do is set her up with her studio partner, the young and good looking Sam. When Kate is fired from Sound Bistro by her maniacal boss, Nancy, Kate winds up working at Gaston's corporate offices as a receptionist. Although Kate deeply misses cooking, she feels that working side by side with Gaston will help her achieve her goal of breaking his engagement. "
