Plot Summary of Adam and Eva
"Beautiful Eva Duncan heads to the islands of St. Thomas and St. John in order to get a much needed vacation from her job as a legal secretary. Still reeling from the death of her daughter, Gail, Eva is determined to move forward with her life. On the plane to the islands Eva makes the acquaintance of ten year old Diane Maxwell, a girl who is traveling to St. John to meet up with her divorced father. When Eva lays eyes on gorgeous Adam Maxwell she feels an instant sexual attraction to the handsome man. When Eva runs into Adam and Diane she overhears Adam being very harsh and strict with his daughter. Eva offers to watch Diane while Adam performs his job as a marine biologist to relieve the tension. Although Adam doesn't want to impose on Eva, she assures him that spending time with Diane would be lovely way to spend the day. As Diane and Eva bond, Eva starts noticing more and more how badly Adam treats his daughter. When Eva gathers her courage to confront Adam regarding his treatment of Diane, Adam surprises her by inviting her to dinner. Both slowly begin to peel back the layers and Eva tells Adam the tragic story of the fire that killed her husband and daughter. Adam is equally forthright when he tells her about his failed marriage to Diane's mother and how his ex-wife got pregnant solely to save their marriage. As Eva and Adam begin a relationship neither can deny the sparks that are constantly flying between them. As Eva and Adam surrender to their desire Eva is left wondering what will happen when her tropical vacation comes to an end. This novel was the very first Harlequin romance written by an African American woman. "
