"Samantha Sweeting is a whip-smart attorney at London's most prestigious law firm...until she makes an egregious mistake that loses the firm 50 million pounds. The firm's insurers cover the cost, but one of the partners advises her to stay away while they decide Samantha's fate. She's fired.
Samantha absconds on the train to the English countryside and knocks on the door of a large house, looking for water and aspirin. The lady of the house assumes that Samantha was sent by a housekeeping agency she had called, and the comedy of errors begins."

"Samantha is on the verge of partnership at the prestigious London law firm Carter Spink, and the youngest one in history at that. She is 29 and right on track for her life plans. But, when she finds she has made a terrible, costly mistake just minutes before the partnership decision, she panics and leaves the building and stumbles onto the nearest train. When she gets off the train she has massive headache and approaches a house to ask for directions and water. The lady of the house mistakes her for an applicant for position of housekeeper and Samantha is too astonished to correct her. Unable to face returning to London, Samantha tries to master the finer points of laundry, cooking and cleaning. She discovers that the slow life suit her just fine.
But she can't escape her past and in fact uncovers the fact that she didn't make a mistake but was in fact framed. When she finally finds someone to listen, and the media figures it out, she is touted as the “the best legal brain in the country”. But, she wants to just escape back to being the housekeeper, the simple life and her new love (in the gardener).
