| Plot Summary of A Dance Through time |
"Elizabeth Smith, living in New York, was engaged to be married. She was an aspiring romance author with a deep fascination with medieval Scotland. She is having strange dreams of a dark haired Laird, a fierce warrior with deep husky voice. Deciding to do research in the park for her novel she is reading about the MacLeod clan and how the Laird in her dreams fits the description in this book. Setting it aside she lays it down to have a nap, when she wakes she is shocked to discover that she is in Scotland. To make matters worse the Laird that captures her hates women. He also looks exactly like the man from her dreams.
Jamie MacLeod can't really say he despises women he just sees no use for them and does not have any in his keep at all. When he captures Elizabeth he proclaims her a witch and throws her into his dungeons, especially after she says she came from the forest. After her hours of screams and wails wore him down he got her out, washed the filt off of her, and let her weep until she fell asleep in his arms. He examines her belongings and discovers that she did come from the forest. He fears the forest because his brother Patrick went to the forest one day and never returned. He is aware of the magical abilities this forest has and promises to help her return home. Little do they both know that the forest put them together for a reason and until that time Elizabeth is not leaving the 14th century at all.
Elizabeth was very quickly in the hearts of this clan of men. They were quick to help her command and organize the castle, sweeping the castle of its filth, making it a better place to live. Jamie, although he was slowly falling in love with Elizabeth, he fought with sarcasm and tried his hardest to resist the temptation of loving her but it was a lost cause. "
