| Plot Summary of A Beacon Street Mourning |
"Fremont Jones and her investigative partner/lover/spy, Michael Archer, return to her native city of Boston. Fremont's father is very ill. Fremont suspects that her neglectful stepmother, Augusta, is behind his illness. She arranges for her father to have round the clock nurses to attend to him. He quickly starts to improve, until one night, he suddenly dies of a heart attack. Unknown to her stepmother, Fremont has been left the bulk of her father's estate.
Now it's up to Fremont to convince her father's doctor that he did not die of natural causes. Did an old friend of the family betray Fremont and her father? Did Augusta murder him thinking she would inherit everything? Fremont must find the enemy before they strike again. "
