Plot Summary of Partners in Parenthood
"Jill Mathesin should have run away the minute she set eyes on Mason, who had recently took over the Stafford Review-Journal. Instead she found herself trying to comfort the man whose ring finger showed off a fresh wedding band mark. The night Mason Bradshaw's divorce was finalised, Jill barged in with beer and chips to lend him a shoulder to cry on. They woke up in bed, the next morning, wrapped in each others' arms. Mason literally withdrew into his composed self, his heart too scarred from his ex-wife's (Karen) betrayal.

Yet, within a month, Jill discovered she was pregnant. She took the only option possible; she quit her job to avoid Mason. If he found out, a decent guy that he was, he would do the honourable thing. Marry her because of the child she was carrying. When one day, a psychopathic robbed the local furniture shop she was working at, Jill was held hostage. Mason, who had rushed to the scene, discovered the truth. True indeed, he was hot on her heels to get her to marry him before the baby's due.

Jill was torn, for he was the man of her dreams but marrying a man who did not love you back could lead to problems. To add to their mixed bag of problems, Karen, a manipulative and selfish person to the core, had not given up her hopes of reconciliation.
