"David Morgan, is left as the sole heir to the multi-million dollar Morgan Empire after his parents die in a car accident. He inherits the money but refuses to take over the reins of the his fathers empire. He is constantly seeling out new adventure. Against everybodys advice he had become a fighter pilot in the RAF but had to leave his commission on its expiry.

Now he wants to fly again.

He decides to drive through Europe in search of adventure and some form of fulfillment. During his travels through Spain, he chances upon Debra and Joseph Mordecai, brother and sister, from Israel and also on holiday in Europe. Joe is a pilot in the Israeli Air Force and Debra is a lecturer of English at University. David is taken in by their friendliness and they decide to travel through Spain together. Apart from the fact that David and Joe are pilots and fly the same aircraft (Mirage 2000), he is able to connect with his new friends as he too is half Jewish from his mothers side.

After his trip, when it is finally time for him to take responsibility for his fortune, he uproots himself and moves to Israel. He meets Debra and Joe and due to the fact that he is a phenomenal fighter pilot, Debras father, who is a general in the Defense Forces gives him a commission to fly for the Israeli Air Force. David and Debra, now lovers, start living together.

The day Joe is to get married, Palestinian terrorists attack, and in the process Joe's fiancee and certain guests are killed. Debra, as a result of grenade shrapnel goes blind in both eyes.

Debra, who is tremendously aware of her disability disappears from Davids life and refuses to disclose her location or to meet David ever again. She wants David to remember and cherish her the way she was, beautiful and vibrant. Not as a cripple.

David and Joe, thrown together by the tragedy find new meaning and substance in their relationship. They become close as friends and always fly together. Leader and wingman.

One day, after a scramble, David makes a wrong decision that leads to Joe getting killed by a stray palestinian missile and David is forced to crash land. The landing causes a fuel leak and causes David to suffer terrible burns all over his body. He is in hospital for months and finally when he leaves the hospital, his face is burned and scarred beyond recognition. He is blamed by Joe's family for the tragedy, he loses his commission with the Air Force, and he is treated like a social outcast. Israel has become a 'pariah' (stranger) for him.

He decides to leave Israel for his vast family estate stretching over thousands of acres in the heart of Africa where he plans to settle down. He has one thing do do before he leaves- find Debra.

He speaks to a friend of Debra who is aware of her whereabouts but had refused to declare her location to David due to a promise she had made to Debra. Now, after seeing David, scarred and ruined she decides to break her promise and unite them both.

David and Debra, still absolutely in love with each other, strengthened by their reunion leave for Africa together."
