Plot Summary of A Treasure Worth Seeking
" Erin O'Shea shows up in San Francisco hoping to be reunited with the brother she was separated from thirty years earlier. The man who answers the door claims to be her brother but his reactions are not what Erin was expecting when she explains who she is and how she tracked him down. When her 'brother' suddenly grabs her in the kitchen and gives her a totally unbrotherly kiss Erin is shocked and distressed to find herself actually responding to the kiss.
To her surprise she finds out that her brother had disappeared just days before along with a large sum of money from the bank he was working for. The man who had met her at the door was Treasury Agent Lance Barrett and he refuses to believe that Erin is who she claims to be. He believes she may be connected somehow to the missing money and the fact that he finds himself attracted to her is very disturbing to him. Erin and Lance find the attraction they feel hard to ignore and once Erin is cleared of any suspicion she stays on to help support her distraught sister-in-law. Even after they give in to their attraction it isn't an easy road for Erin and Lance. He feels he is not worthy of her because he is only a government employee while she is a wealthy business woman.
When Erin's brother is discovered murdered in San Diego, Erin returns to Texas immediatly after the funeral. But she can't forget Lance and as it turns out he has not been able to get her out of his mind either. He shows up at her office to deliver a picture he had found of her mother, her brother and herself when she was an infant and they find the attraction is still as strong as ever.
