Plot Summary of Drive Me Crazy
"Duncan Forbes, an art history professor and sleuth for stolen art works, is on the search for a Van Gogh painting stolen by the Nazis. His information leads him to the small town of Swiftcurrent, Oregon where he meets the town's librarian, Alexandra Forrest. With her sexy clothes and enticing body, Alex is like no librarian Duncan has ever seen before. She also happens to be the granddaughter of Frank Forrest, the art dealer Duncan was looking to meet. However, Frank died recently under circumstances which Duncan discovers are suspicious. Duncan thinks some unethical art dealers are also looking for the Van Gogh, so, he begins an affair with Alex in order to obtain information about the painting. He tells Alex he is in town to research and write a book and does not tell her about his real motive because he does not know if she might be involved in illegal art dealing.

At 31, Alex wants to settle down and start a family, and a passionate affair with Duncan is delaying her plans. But Alex cannot resist Duncan although she knows he is not a commitment type of guy. Alex decides to enjoy the great sex with Duncan as she deals with her grandfather's estate and works on transcribing the memoirs he dictated.

Meanwhile, a dead body turns up in the library and someone tries to shoot Duncan. Tom Perkins, the town police chief, is suspicious of Duncan, he also is in love with Alex's cousin, Gillian, who is going through a painful divorce. Gillian's soon to be ex-husband, Eric, has taken over Alex and Gillian's grandfather's art business, and is too interested in what Duncan is doing in town. As Duncan and Alex learn more about her late grandfather and search for the lost painting, they keep trying to tell themselves that their love affair is not going to last forever."
