In Savannah, Georgia Vickie Williams warned her best friend and business partner Rosie Gardener not to marry the philandering Kent Bliss. Vickie accuses her size 6 friend of jealousy because a size 14 like her could have such a fiance. Rosie accepts a job as companion to elderly Adeline Summers and leaves for Europe.

Three years later Rosie is miserable as Kent treats her like dirt except for short moments when she buys him expensive presents. She asks him to be home for their anniversary dinner, but he gives her a lame excuse. Rosie has had it with Kent. She takes his name off of everything and when he finally comes home she kicks him out. Rosie is beginning to regain her self esteem when she runs into Vickie, who is back in town following the death of Adeline. They hug and pick up the friendship as if nothing happened. Meanwhile Rosie obtains a physical fitness trainer widow Jack Silver and has won the three hundred plus million dollar lottery, but refuses to acknowledge her victory if Kent gets even a cent. Kent knows she won and plans to take it all.

"Rosie Gardener and Vickie Winters have always been the best of friends. Rosie even remembers how they faced the first day of school together. Fast forward through the years; Rosie and Vickie decided to start a small business based in Rosie's garage. A company called "Nature's Delight". Rosie and Vickie collected the unique and different weeds that grew in and around Savannah, Georgia and gathered them into planned arrangements. After ten years in business, their company was doing quite well.

Rosie was overweight and very self-conscious about it. Having been left a legacy by her parents, Rosie did not have to worry about money. However, she wanted desperately to get married. When the handsome and debonair Kent Bliss asked her out very quickly she was “head over heels in love”. When he asked her to marry him, Rosie did not hesitate to say yes.

Vickie and her housekeeper & close friend Luna tried to convince her to say no. Rosie and Vickie argued further over his commitment to her; when Vickie actually saw Kent cheating on her. Rosie would not listen, and Vickie decided to take a job in Europe. They did not speak again for three years.

By their third anniversary, Rosie knew she had made a horrible mistake. She actually knew about a week after their wedding, but tried admirably to make it work by showering him with gifts and love. Kent lived life on her credit card and her expensive gifts to him. He gave her nothing but cruel remarks in return. Rosie gave him an ultimatum to come home that night for dinner or else. He did not listen, and Rosie finally came to her senses and threw him out of her house.

Rosie decides to make drastic changes in her life and lose the weight that has always bothered her. She orders new exercise equipment, and decides to hire a personal trainer. Jack Silver enters the scene, changes her diet and pushes her into an vigorous exercise routine. At the same time, Vickie Winters comes home from Europe. The two former best friends reconcile, and become as close as three years previous. The two with Luna's help work to make their business thrive. In the meantime, Rosie on a whim buys a lottery ticket that actually wins the big jackpot. She hesitates on cashing it in because Kent will claim half of it.

As Rosie is in the midst of her transformation; it is fitting to see Kent get his comeuppance. He struggles with expenses and life without his wife's credit card. Kent keeps two girlfriends at arm's lengths so he can borrow money from both, and get other
needed conveniences. He hears through the grapevine that Rosie won the lottery and it drives him to great lengths to find it, despite being locked out of his old house.

Rosie finds and adopts a stray dog for company in the house. Luna and Jack help her with her exercise and diet. Jack wants her to train for a triathlon three months down the road. He gives her valuable lessons, "that it's what's inside that counts", and "You can do it Rosie" regarding her exercise regimen. Momentum builds towards the big race; you can easily predict who the last two competitors will be. The ending fizzles just a bit, but you will be happy that Rosie and Vickie are back in business, and that Jack and Rosie have found each other.
