| Plot Summary of Nightshade |
"After Boyd Fletcher gets a promotion, Althea Grayson works on her own. When an old friend of Boyd's, Colt Nightshade, comes to town looking for a friend's missing daughter, Althea is assigned to work with the private investigator.
Sparks fly from the beginning, both from temper and from sexual tension. Colt and Althea spend a night making love on a plane. The next morning they get the plane fixed and continue searching for the cabin where the girl is being held.
When the cabin is found, Thea goes undercover to try to get the girl out. She is almost shot when her real identity is discovered, but she manages to get away and Colt saves the young girl. Now that the job is done, Thea wonders if she'll ever see Colt again. Will the two of them find some way to make things work and stay together for good?"

"Colt Nightshade is searching for a friend's runaway teenage daughter, Liz. He believes that she is being held against her will, and is being forced to participate in the production of pornographic films. When it becomes apparent that he cannot find Liz without police help, he seeks out Boyd Fletcher, the one cop he trusts. Boyd assigns Lieutenant Althea Grayson to the case.
Colt and Thea immediately start out on the wrong foot. Colt is very easygoing, and doesn't care about doing things by the book. Thea thrives on law and order, and approaches everything professionally. At first Colt thinks that Thea is just a useless cop with no compassion, but he soon learns that that is not the case. He finds himself attracted to her, but Thea does her best to keep an appropriate professional distance between them.
As time goes on and they get closer to finding Liz, their relationship becomes more serious. Colt finds himself in love with Thea and wanting a future with her, but Thea doesn't believe in his feelings for her. She is unwilling to trust him. "
