| Plot Summary of Brass Ring |
"Claire and her paraplegic husband are counselors who help other people with disabilities. While coming home from a conference, Claire tries to stop a woman from jumping off a bridge, but she fails. After that, Claire becomes obsessed with the woman, and her marriage begins to fall apart, especially when Claire meets the woman's brother.
Meanwhile, Claire's estranged sister is dealing with committment issues from her horrible past. She remembers being sexually abused, and blames Claire for it. She has a history of drug use, and she gave her own child up, but she has turned her life around and is now a doctor. She wants to confront her abuser.
Claire begins having flashbacks, and with help from the men in her life, she begins to see her repressed memories. She contacts her sister, Vanessa, and Vanessa tells her what really happened with the abuse. When Vanessa goes public with her rapist's identity, she is attacked by the media. Finally Claire remembers it all, and together she and her sister defend another young victim of the rapist, who is now in Congress, and Claire tries to reconcile her marriage."
