Plot Summary of Sweet Poison
"In England during the summer of 1935 the Duke of Mersham is hosting an informal but very influential dinner parties, attempting to improve Anglo-German relations. A guest, General Sir Alistair Craig VC swallows poison in the port just as Lord Edward Corinthe and a journalist Verity Browne arrive late at the table.
