Plot Summary of Wumpleberries and Gronglenuts
"On the day that the bank is robbed in the frontier town of Krillingaeth, Moon's father mysteriously disappears. His father's loyal friend Crumwin Shnort whisks the boy away for safety's sake. On the journey from Krillingaeth to his Great Cousin Minskit's house at Glebna-By-The-Sea, Moon learns of his father's secret. He never knew that his father was one of the seven holders of the pieces of the Plate of Vlog. Neither did he realize that five of the pieces of the plate had been stolen by the awful Menghis Bad Baladin. On that fateful journey however, Moon and Crumwin are ambushed.

Moon escapes and begins his own adventure to find his father. He meets up with two other children who have their own very good reasons for running away and joining him. At Glebna-By-The-Sea the three children are magically transported via a "fire hole" to Menghis Bad Baladin's bleak island home. They meet with colourful characters such as Grundelin Hissensteem and the wizard Yew Hugh Peru. They battle against the worst of Baladin's magical creations, the blatchers, sneergoths and yeagles before acquiring some magic themselves that enables them to get to the very heart of Bad Baladin's world inside the towering volcano called Mount Popadogatwig."
