| Plot Summary of Let Me Hear Your Voice |
"Katherine Maurice details her families struggles with her children's autism. It is a very elightened look at the affect a diagnosis can have on a family, as well as the struggle a family has finding their way through the often confusing maze of opinions, treatment options, and stereotypes of autism.
Katherine's daughter Anne-Marie is the first to be diagnosied. She details her struggles with accepting this diagnosis, as well as her attempts to seek treatment. Katherine Maurice tried a variety of treatment options, and records the basic treatments, her observations and opinions of treatments. Eventually the Maurice family finds a treatment option that works for them, and they achieve a "recovery" of their daughter.
Michel her son, is then diagnosed, and the struggle for treatment and recovery starts all over again. Luckily both struggles have a happy ending. Katherine then discusses her continuing work helping other families.
Katherine Maurice is very open about her feelings as a mother dealing with Autism. Katherine Maurice has very strong opinions about some treatment options and expresses them openly. She shares her pain and triumphs. "
